Knowledge managers working in low- and middle-income countries will share their experiences developing evidence-informed health policy alongside policy makers and discuss the impact. The session will cover lessons learned creating policy briefs and rapid response mechanisms using the tools developed by the Evidence Informed Policy Network.
From their different perspectives the session will describe: What works? How do you access the right information? When and how are systematic reviews practical in a low-resource setting? What kinds of evidence and other dissemination tools (such as video) are useful for policy-makers?
Speakers will draw on their experience from their work in in Gambia, Kenya, Lebanon, South Africa and Uganda and this will be followed by a facilitated question and answer session.
