A limited number of stipends and bursaries to help cover registration, travel costs, accommodation, and other expenses associated with attending the Global Evidence Summit are available for eligible applicants.

Wellcome LMIC stipends

Wellcome exists to improve health for everyone by helping great ideas to thrive. We’re a global charitable foundation, both politically and financially independent. We support scientists and researchers, take on big problems, fuel imaginations and spark debate. Travel, accommodation and registration is covered.

Wellcome is offering a limited number of stipends for LMIC researchers, policy-makers and others contributing to knowledge translation activities or evidence to policy work to attend the Summit.

Doris Duke Charitable Foundation LMIC stipends

Doris Duke Charitable Foundation mission is to improve the quality of people's lives through grants supporting the performing arts, environmental conservation, medical research, and child well-being, and through preservation of the cultural and environmental legacy of Doris Duke's properties.

Doris Duke Charitable Foundation is offering a limited number of bursaries for researchers, living and working in Africa, working in evidence production, systematic reviews, research synthesis, or evidence-informed policy and practice to attend the full Summit. Travel, accommodation and registration is covered.

TDR stipends

TDR, the Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases, is a global programme of scientific collaboration that helps facilitate, support and influence efforts to combat diseases of poverty. It is hosted at the World Health Organization (WHO), and is sponsored by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the World Bank and WHO. 

TDR is offering a limited number of bursaries for researchers, policy- makers and others contributing to knowledge translation activities or evidence to policy work, preferably from LMIC, preferably working with neglected tropical diseases to attend the Summit.

Joanna Briggs Institute stipends

During the Global Evidence Summit, The Joanna Briggs Institute stipend programme for Centres of Excellence will be coordinated by the JBI Collaboration Support Unit.

Campbell Collaboration bursaries

The Campbell Collaboration will, with the support of the Netherlands Ministry for Foreign Affairs, provide bursaries for up to ten participants who are nationals of, and working or studying in, sub Saharan Africa. This support will cover the Summit registration fee and, where required, economy airfare and hotel. No per diem will paid, and additional costs, e.g. visa, have to be paid by the participant or their employer.

Cochrane consumer stipends

Cochrane is committed to the active involvement of consumers and consumer advocates in the preparation, implementation and dissemination of systematic reviews and in furthering the aims of Cochrane.

Stipends to help cover travel costs and other expenses associated with attending the Global Evidence Summit (GES) are available for consumers who are active Cochrane contributors or in a position to become an active contributor.

Funds are limited, so applicants should explore partial or full funding options from other source(s), such as your local consumer or self-help group, or the Cochrane Group with which you are involved.

Cochrane developing country stipends

Cochrane is committed to promoting and supporting the involvement of contributors to Cochrane who are from developing countries.

Stipends to help cover travel costs and other expenses associated with attending the Global Evidence Summit are available for residents of low- and middle-income countries (LMIC) that are actively contributing to Cochrane.

Funds are, however, very limited, so if you can find some or all the money you need from another source (such as the Cochrane Group with which you are involved or your institution), please do so.

GES National Research Foundation stipends

The National Research Foundation (NRF), South Africa is providing stipends to help cover travel costs for postgraduate students resident in Africa to attend the Global Evidence Summit (GES).

Funds are limited, so applicants should explore partial or full funding options from other source(s) or your institution.
