Access for People With Disabilities

Designed to cater for people with disabilities, the CTICC strives to ensure that it is always a venue, where all feel welcome. The building incorporates features that live up to Universal Accessibility Standards and the South African National Building Regulations (NBR) Standards.

The centre offers full wheel-chair access, designated drop-off points and parking bays for people with disabilities, direct access escalators designed for the disabled, toilets for the physically challenged, and elevators with Braille inscriptions.

The width of all external and internal doors has been designed to accommodate wheelchair access and lift buttons are placed to allow access by those in wheelchairs. Auditorium I is also equipped with designated seating sections for wheelchair occupants.

Registration and help desk

The registration and help desk is located in the registration foyer of the CTICC. Times: 07:30 – 17:30.

Conference bag donation

All delegates of the Global Evidence Summit are encouraged to donate their conference backpacks to local high school learners at the CENTRE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (COSAT www.cosat.co.za).   Donation boxes will be available at the registration area ta the conference venue.

COSAT school opened its doors in 1999 in response to the shortage of quality Maths and Science matriculants from township schools in the Western Cape. Initially, COSAT offered only Grades 10 to 12 and students with mathematical talent would be invited to leave their high schools at the end of Grade 9 to complete their school careers at COSAT. COSAT’s mission is to provide challenging educational opportunities of a high quality for our students who are drawn in and around Khayelitsha, to become extra-ordinary leaders who are competent and confident in their communities and broader society.
