Who can attend?

Q: Can my spouse or partner attend?
A: Anyone wishing to attend the Global Evidence Summit must pay a registration fee. There are tours that an accompanying person can participate in during the Summit. Social events wll be available for delegates only for now.

Q: Are there child-minding services available at or near the Global Evidence Summit venue?
A: Yes, you can find out more on this page.

Travelling to South Africa

Q: I’m not a South African citizen. Do I need special documentation to enter South Africa and attend this conference?
A: Entry requirements vary depending on your country of citizenship. Many countries offer visa-free travel to South Africa or have visa waiver agreements in place. See the visa requirements page for further information.

Q: Can I receive a discount on my travel fare?
A: No. 

Registration

Q: I only plan on attending one day of the Summit. Can I pay for one day only?
A: Yes. Options for day registration will be available via the online registration form. 

Q: Several of my colleagues and I are registering for the Summit. Is there a special group rate?
A: No, only individual registration is available.

Abstract and workshop submissions

Q: I already have a Cochrane Colloquium account. Can I reuse my e-mail and login information?
A: No, you must create a new account for this year’s Summit.

Q: If I submit an abstract but do not receive a confirmation email, how will I know if it went through?
A: Log in to your Summit account and click ‘My submissions’ in the menu on the left side of the screen. This page will list any content you have submitted and will update you on its status. If your submission is not listed, please email contact@globalevidencesummit.org and ask for confirmation.

Q: If I miss the abstract submission deadline, will you accept late submissions?
A: No. 

Q: Will I receive a certificate of attendance for the Summit?
A: Yes, delegates can generate their own attendance certificates from their account once the Summit is underway.

Accommodation and getting around

Q: Do I need to book my own hotel room?
A: Yes. All Summit attendees must arrange their own accommodation. Information about hotels and how to book accommodation can be found on the accommodation page.

Q: Are there attractions I can visit outside of the Summit venue?
